Why did I received my inspection crawler robot with its tires deflated?
That’s because the tires may have deflated during shipping due to change in pressure. To fix that, loosen a few of the bedlock screws on the wheel and pull back on the wheel trim until properly inflated.
My inspection crawler's video was blurry when I received it. How do I fix it?
We ship our inspection crawlers with plastic protection peels on the camera lens and you simply need to peel it off.
How do I put accurate date and time stamps on the photos I take?
Click on “Auto-Sync Time” on your RunCam app to put the right time stamps on your photo. Please note that time will reset when you turn off your inspection crawler, therefore you need to reconnect it to your phone and Auto-Sync Time each time you use it.
Why is my crawler is driving itself?
That’s because the joysticks on the controller are not perfectly positioned in the center. We recommend that you check your controllers to see if they are positioned at the very center before turning the robot crawler on.
Why won't my robot crawler's camera rotate?
This usually happens when you turn the controller on before the crawler. We always recommend turning on and initializing your controller first to ensure you always have full control of your robot crawler.
How should I charge the transmitter on my robot crawler?
The best way to charge the transmitter is by using the USB charger included in the case. While it is possible to use the crawler battery charger, we do not recommend doing so because it requires removing the transmitter battery. Pulling the battery out this way could risk disconnecting the connector from the board, potentially causing damage to the transmitter.
What type of SD card is required for video storage?
The robot crawler requires a 32GB SD card with an HC (High Capacity) format. Larger SD cards, such as 128GB or 256GB, are not compatible and will not function properly with the system. It is important to use the correct SD card type to avoid any recording issues.
How do I resolve the RTC (Real-Time Clock) battery low warning on my transmitter?
If you see an RTC battery low warning on your transmitter, you can clear the notification by holding the menu button down to access the settings. Navigate to Page 6 under Hardware, scroll down, and uncheck the RTC option. This will remove the warning and allow you to continue using the transmitter without interruptions.
How do I fix trigger and switch warnings on my transmitter?
If you receive trigger and switch warnings, go to Page 2 under the Setup menu. Look for the S & T Warnings section and uncheck the arrows so that the fields are blank. This should resolve the issue and prevent unnecessary alerts from appearing.
What’s the difference between a directional and an omnidirectional antenna?
A directional antenna, such as the LR antenna, needs to be pointed directly toward the crawler to maintain a strong signal. The monitor automatically selects the strongest signal available, so if you are using a directional antenna, you may need to adjust its positioning to improve range and connectivity. An omnidirectional antenna, on the other hand, picks up signals from multiple directions and does not require precise positioning.
Why did my recorded video file become corrupted?
If a recorded video file appears corrupted or fails to save properly, it is likely because the robot crawler was turned off before the video was saved. To prevent this issue, always ensure that you save your video before powering down the robot crawler. Failing to do so may result in the file becoming unreadable.
What should I do if my video monitor screen goes black or shows static?
If your video monitor screen suddenly goes black, the first step is to turn the monitor off and then back on. In most cases, this simple reset will restore the display of your robot crawler and resolve the issue. If the screen is static, try hitting the search button to locate the signal your robot crawler’s signal.
What happens if the servo breaks?
The servo is responsible for allowing the camera gimbal to turn. On the MK2 Pro, the servo has metal teeth, which makes it more durable compared to the Marten’s plastic teeth. However, if the metal teeth wear down, you may start to feel grinding or hear unusual noises. If the servo teeth of your robot crawler are completely damaged and the gimbal movement feels bouncy or unresponsive, the unit will need to be sent back to us for servicing.
What should I do if one wheel stops spinning or if the motor teeth break?
If one of the wheels is not spinning, gently spin it by hand to check for resistance. If you feel it catching, this is a sign that a tooth on the motor gear may be broken. In this case, the robot crawler may require servicing to replace the damaged component.
What does water in the camera lens indicate?
That’s a sign of potential water damage, and your indicator or transmitter may stop working as a result. Please contact UplinkRobotics Support immediately to assess the extent of the damage and discuss possible solutions.
